It is with pleasure that we invite parents, caregivers and daughters of Kenmore State High School to our 2022 International Women’s Day Parent & Daughter Breakfast on Tuesday 8 March from 7.30am – 8.30am in the Activities Centre.
The breakfast is an opportunity to meet other parents and students, celebrate women’s achievements and discuss challenges still faced, and how together we can #BreakTheBias. This Parent & Daughter Breakfast will have a focus on women, but all Kenmore SHS students are welcome to attend.
This year we welcome special guest speaker Dr Simone Smala to share her story. Simone is a Senior Lecturer in teacher education, curriculum and pedagogy at The University of Queensland. She came to Australia on a scholarship and as part of her PhD, worked with IRA prisoners in Belfast ensuring they had access to education. Simone's research is based in socio-cultural learning theories, educational policy and blended learning.
