The success of our school’s 1-to-1 Technology Program over the last decade has been in the enablement of the range of learning experiences that 1-to-1 access to technology brings. Our school uses tools and resources to support student learning, including third-party (non-departmental) online services hosted and managed outside of the Department of Education network.
For years, teachers and heads of department have researched and trialled a range of platforms and services, for the benefit of student learning outcomes. We have established a detailed and comprehensive list of the trusted third-party online services currently utilised. This list is available on the Third party online service providers webpage.
We have released a digital survey form to collect consent rather than a traditional paper form and emails calling attention to this have been sent to the email address we have on record as the primary contact parent for each student. If you have not received our emails, please first check junk/spam folders before emailing OnlineServices@kenmoreshs.eq.edu.au so we can follow-up.
When able to login to the digital survey form we invite you to provide consent for all services, as this will allow use across the range of subject areas for the phase of learning your child is currently in (e.g. Junior Secondary – Years 7 through 9).
The survey form will outline the most student personal information that could be provided in utilising a third-party online service. In most cases, we utilise less personally identifiable information. E.g. Student account registration in Education Perfect includes a student’s email address, first name and last initial only; rather than disclosing full last name.
For some time, our practice of reducing personal information disclosure negated the need for collection of consent, but as advice has changed so have our processes.
Please be assured that if you provide consent for an online service that your child will not utilise, no personal information will be released by the school to that online service provider.
As mentioned, the list of online services is comprehensive, so please be prepared to allow some time to complete the survey.
We have received strong acceptance of our list of trusted third-party online services to date and look forward to hearing from remaining families shortly.
