​​Enrolling into Year 7 2026​​

​Thank you for your interest in our exceptional school.​ Applications for Year 7 in 2026 including limited remaining spaces in our Programs of Excellence open Monday, 26 May 2025 7:00am and close Wednesday 4 June 2025 7:00pm. 

Enrolment interviews and testing for remaining places for Year 7 in 2026 GIEP, MEX and Ken-X Programs will be conducted on enrolment day, Saturday 14 June 2025.

​We understand that the process of enrolling in school is an important one. As a result, we have created an Enrolment Application Booklet for Year 7 in 2026 (PDF, 17.2MB) which parents and caregivers are able to download from the KSHS website.

​This comprehensive booklet includes all of the important documentation you need to supply, including the standard Education Queensland Enrolment Form as well as a number of other consent and agreement forms that must be completed as part of your enrolment. The enrolment checklist at the back of the Enrolment Application Booklet for Year 7 in 2026 will ensure parents and caregivers have completed and signed all consent and agreement forms and have copies of all required supporting documentation to submit at an enrolment interview on Saturday 14 June 2025. All enrolment applications will be considered as received on Saturday 14 June 2025.

If applying for the limited remaining places in a Program of Excellence (Music Extension, Ken-X, German Immersion), the Program of Excellence Enrolment Guide gives a step by step guide. to the unique application process for each program and what additional documents and processes are required to accompany the Enrolment Application Booklet in 2026. If you reside outside of Kenmore State High School's catchment area and your student is not successful in obtaining a place in a Program of Excellence, the enrolment application will still be considered for a mainstream placement and the enrolment decision will be made by the Principal towards the end of Term 3 or beg​inning of Term 4. 

Please carefully follow the steps below to successfully enrol for Year 7 in 2026.​

1. Before you apply 

Please review these documents carefully to ensure you have the required documentation available to support the enrolment application: 

• Enrolment Management Plan External link for the conditions under which students may be enrolled. The defined local catchment map External link shows the area where students have priority for enrolment. If you live outside the catchment area, your application will be considered and the enrolment decision will be made by the Principal towards the end of Term 3 or beginning of Term 4.
• Parent Information Handbook (PDF, 1.2MB)  for important information about school policies, daily operations, support services and more.
• Junior Secondary Curriculum Handbook (PDF, 1.8MB)  for information about subjects offered in Years 7 to 9.
• Enrolment Processes and Timelines (PDF, 260KB) including application submission dates, interview dates and orientation sessions.
• Program of Excellence Enrolment Guide (PDF, 813KB) if applying for specialist programs including Ken-X, Music Extension (MEX), and/or German Immersion and Extension (GIEP). This document outlines additional documentation and processes required.​

2. Completing an application 

If you wish to enrol your child at Kenmore State High School, download and "save as" the Enrolment Application Booklet for Year 7 in 2026 (PDF, 17.2MB). You are required to print this booklet and bring it with you to your enrolment interview. If you are applying for a Program of Excellence (Ken-X, GIEP, MEX), read the Program of Excellence Enrolment Guide (PDF, 813KB) to see what additional processes and documentation is required. Proceed to Step 3.

​3. Book a Year 7 in 2026 enrolment interview for Saturday 14 June 2025

All student need to have a Year 7 enrolment interview. Enrolment interviews for Year 7 in 2026 will occur only on Saturday 14 June 2025 from 8:00am - 3:00pm. Bookings are essential. 

• Year 7 in 2026 enrolment interview online bookings open 7.00am Monday 26 May 2025.
• Bookings close 7.00pm Wednesday 4 June 2025

Which Year 7 in 2026 Enrolment Interview do I need to book?

• Applying for Mainstream including those students already accepted into Ken-X, MEX and GIEP Programs of Excellence - Book a Year 7, 2026 Enrolment Interview
• EAL/D or International​ - Book an EAL/D Enrolment Interview
  
• Students with a disability - Book a Teaching and Learning Support (TALS) interview
• If applying for limited remaining places in a Program of Excellence - Book a Year 7 in 2026 Enrolment Interview and refer to the Program of Excellence Enrolment Guide and school website. 

Testing for GIEP (30 mins) and for Ken-X (1 hour) are in addition to enrolment bookings on 14 June 2025. Select a time on SOBS. 

Live MEX auditions will be held on Saturday 14 June 2025. Please provide hard copies of the following on your audition day: 

School report cards for previous two semesters and Year 5 NAPLAN report

Photocopies of AMEB/Trinity exam certificate/s (if applicable)

4. Submitting your application

Bring your completed Enrolment Application Booklet for Year 7 in 2026 (PDF, 17.2MB) documentation to your booked enrolment interview on Saturday 14 June 2025. Please note that incomplete applications cannot be accepted. 

Enrolment applications close Wednesday 4 June 2025

​Additional application forms and processes are required if applying for a Program of Excellence (KEN-X, MEX, GIEP) - refer to Step 5.

5. Program of Excellence applications

Kenmore State High School offer three Programs of Excellence designed to enhance the outcomes of students and help them reach their full potential: 

• Kenmore Extension Program (KEN-X)
• Music Extension Program (MEX)
• German Immersion and Extension Program (GIEP)

If applying for a Program of Excellence, read the Program of Excellence Enrolment Guide (PDF, 813KB) the unique application process for each program and what additional documents and processes are required. 

Please note that it is mandatory for all Program of Excellence applicants to complete and submit the Enrolment Application Booklet for Year 7 in 2026 at an enrolment interview on Saturday 14 June 2025. If you are sitting the ACER test and challenge questions/ questionnaire for either Ken-X or GIEP you must submit your enrolment application prior to these taking place.
