The P&C Association provides financial assistance through the Talent Encouragement Support Program for students representing the school in all areas of excellence including; academic, cultural, service, youth, sporting, the arts, service activities, youth forums, public speaking and debating. The P&C has established a fund of up to $1000 per term, $300 per student available for representation at regional, state or national levels.

Purpose

The P&C recognises the value and developmental opportunities of students who are selected to represent their school and community. The fund is designed to, not only recognise outstanding achievement, but to provide parents with financial assistance. Applicants are to be considered on a case by case basis and the P&C has a responsibility to distribute funds equitably for the benefit of the whole school community. The P&C reserves the right to temporarily suspend policy should financial constraints exist.

The policy is intended to:

  • Subsidise activities where the student directly represents the school in the above activities. However, consideration may be given to students that do not directly represent the school where they are chosen for representation at the State and National levels which will reflect positively on the school.

  • Fund participation costs incurred up to 25% or $300 at the discretion of the P&C for an individual or moderated for a group. No more than $1000 per term will be allocated, unless special consideration and approval from the P&C.

  • A student can only be granted funds once in a calendar year.

  • The fund does not cover club representation.

Application and approval process

  • Submit the P&C Talent Encouragement Program application (PDF, 1MB) including supporting details and evidence of costs from the parent, guardian and/or students to the P&C via the Principal - principal@kenmoreshs.eq.edu.au.
  • The Principal to endorse the application as to whether it qualifies for assistance under this policy. Consideration should also be made as to the student’s behavioural record.
  • Once endorsed by the Principal, the application is to be submitted to the P&C Liaison Officer for consideration and final approval by the P&C Committee.
