The RoboRAVE World Championships is an exciting event which aims to engage students in collaborative robotic competition. During the weekend of the 13-14th July 2024, Rain Haase competed in the Open Sumo MS category. Open SumoBot is an event where various types of robots face off in a sumo-style ring, trying to push each other out.
Rain designed and built a fully autonomous robot for the SumoBot Arena. Together, Rain and his robot emerged victorious against all other competitors, securing 1st place in the Open Sumo MS division.
The competition aims to tackle complex and occasionally unfamiliar challenges through mechanical and coding iterations. Additionally, it aims to foster collaborative relationships among teams from diverse backgrounds, levels of experience and expertise. By facing these challenges, students cultivate resilience, grit, and problem-solving skills.
