Kenmore State High School has a strong Performing Arts culture and provides a variety of performance opportunities. All students are encouraged to become involved whether it be onstage or behind the scenes.
Musicals
Every second year we hold a musical production where students audition for acting, dancing and singing roles, as well as instrumental music roles in our live band. These productions are a wonderful way for students to extend their skills and we work hard to accommodate everyone who is interested in participating. Students also get involved backstage as part of our Tech Crew and production design with building sets, costumes and filming when needed.
These events are facilitated with the help of staff from Performing Arts as directors, conductors, choreographers and stage management; as well as Visual Arts staff assisting with graphic design, costuming and set design. On performance evenings we also have a variety of teachers volunteering as ushers and backstage crew.

Variety Performance evenings
In addition to our annual productions, Kenmore State High School offers additional performance opportunities in the form of variety evenings like our Arts Promenade and Cabaret event. These showcase nights allow students to sign up with whatever act or ensemble they like including comedy acts, dance troupes and smaller musical ensembles. Our recent Cabaret event even got the senior food and nutrition students involved in catering the evening.
