The Kenmore State High School Technical (Tech) Team consists of a dedicated group of students in years 8 to 12 who service a variety of school events and productions in sound and lighting. These events range from weekly school assemblies, sporting carnivals, parent information evenings and exam blocks to large extra-curricular productions such as the musical, fashion parade, drama and dance nights.
No prior experience is required to be involved with Tech Team. Students receive general training in all areas that relate to audio-visual, sound, lighting (operation & design) and stage management. Students then choose one of these areas to receive specialist training.
Tech Team students know the value of teamwork, effective communication, problem solving, reliability and a willingness to learn. Being part of the Tech Team is a considerable commitment with students often required to set up for events outside of regular school hours. Recruitment for this team involves completing an application form, interview and a trial period.
