Body Confident Children and Teens Seminar
At Kenmore State High School, we understand the important role parents and guardians play in contributing to their child’s education and success. We are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our students and families, and provide useful sessions throughout the year on relevant subjects to assist your child's wellbeing and education. Parent Information Evenings hosted by the school in the past have included topics such as “anxiety and young people”, “cyber safety”, and many more.
We invite all community members to a parent/guardian information session on Monday 7 August from 6.00pm – 7:30pm, presented by Laura Zuber from the Butterfly Foundation.
Are you looking for some practical advice on how to support your child’s body confidence?
It can be hard to know how to respond when a child says they’re fat or ugly particularly when so many adults struggle with their own body esteem.
Join the experts from the Butterfly Foundation for a free, relaxed and informative 1.5hr seminar for parents/guardians on practical strategies for supporting positive body image in children and teens. Topics include:
• the power of positive role modelling
• reducing appearance talk
• healthy behaviours in relation to eating and exercise
• early intervention and referral advice.
